About miss rochford

Hi! My name is Kristin Rochford and I am a proud teacher here at Ann MacArthur Primary! This is my seventh year teaching, and my first year as a reading teacher in LV. I taught first grade for 6 years in the Bethpage School District. I graduated from Molloy College with my Masters Degree in Childhood Education and Special Education, with a concentration in English. I completed my School Building Administration Degree through Molloy College, and received my certification in literacy birth through 6th grade through Mercy College. Teaching first grade has sparked my excitement to research and explore how students learn to read effectively. I am passionate about teaching students to love reading, as well as to love learning!

I come from a large family, and I love spending time with them as well as my colleagues and friends! Some of the things I love are the color pink, shopping, and coffee! Technology is definitely one of my passions. I love trying new tech tools and implementing them into my classroom and lessons!

Teaching is my favorite thing in the whole entire world! When you love something this much, you can feel it! I love being creative, engaging my students in hands-on experiences, and inspiring them to love learning while having a blast at the same time! I am very excited for this opportunity to be a primary literacy specialist.

I am so excited for my new journey here at Locust Valley. #ProudtobeLV!
